   I would like to leave a note of gratitude for Vincent’s help in a crisis in 2008 – 2009. My home on a steep hillside in Yonkers was beginning the process of slowly, then more rapidly sliding down the hill towards collapse. Alone among local engineers, Vincent was willing to come look. He diagnosed what was going on, drew up plans for underpinning the 80+ years old house and constructing a massive retaining wall to support it on the downhill side, and supervised the successful rescue of the house. He was a vital help and a friend as well.

   I do miss him.
