I am so, so saddened. She was a staple of our community (especially 127th Street) a leader in kindness and an angel to many kids and their families in Central Harlem. There are not many like her and we are mourning the loss of a great human being.
I am so very sorry to hear of this. Everything I have heard about Tamara makes me wish I had known her. As a Harlem home-based provider myself I can’t help but share in the grief of her own family and the families she served. May she rest in peace and may her family be comforted by her life well lived
I will never forget her as a strong, kind, and loving person and strive to keep her memory in my heart and memories. Her love of children and seeing their growth touched my heart multiple times. I wish I had more time with her, and I wish I could have been there for her, but knowing she’s at peace eases my pain knowing my calls and texts won’t reach her, but hopefully, my prayers do. I am grateful I had the opportunity to work with her and learn from her. I will cherish our talks and texts for a lifetime.
I miss her already.

April 23, 2021 at 10:51 amWe spent years with her on the playground. She was the first provider on our block. And a leader – always willing to help. She helped me get started.
